Tilicho Lake and Thorung La Pass Trek – 17 Days

17 Days

Annapurna, Tilicho Lake to Thorung La Pass Trek leads you to the most impressive destination of the World Lake in Nepal. The Tilicho Lake situated at 4,919m collects the glacial melt of Mt Annapurna and Thorong-La Pass 5,416m. This lake holds its significant importance for Hindu devotees as it is mentioned in the sacred text Ramayan. Tilicho is located in the Annapurna range in central Nepal. It measures approximately 4 km in length and 1 km in width, resting at the foot of the Tilicho Peak (7,134m). It is one of the most challenging treks in Nepal. The Himalayan Thar (mountain goat) and the snow leopard may be spotted along the trekking route. The magnificent view of Tilicho Lake provides a true opportunity to witness the creation of Mother Nature. Various types of vegetation zones from lush subtropical to harsh semi-desert are encountered throughout the trek. During the hike, we also traverse one of the highest trekking passes in the world.

Annapurna, Tilicho Lake to Thorung La Pass Trekking commences from Besisahar, following the Marshyangdi River, with stunning views of Manaslu and Himal Chuli to the west. The charming villages and the diverse array of ethnic groups along the route enhance our trekking experience. The initial part of the path coincides with the Annapurna circuit trek; from Manang, we will proceed to the main valley to the west through Khangsar Village and hike up to Tilicho Lake. Then the trail continues to Yak Kharka and merges with the standard Annapurna circuit path before crossing the Thorong la Pass at 5,416m.
